Low and behold, I had a solo in the piece DayNight, an impression in six daily periods. Mine was the task to personify evening twilight. Man, did I hate this solo! I had to twirl around a shawl, dancing to a minimal music piano play, and a little voice kept saying inside of me: “well okay, that shawl is really moving elegantly, but you on the other hand...” An accident never comes alone; I already danced the solo in the theater performance in Amstelveen in 1992. I soon found out I had to do it yet again the next year ;o). Heck: we performed two nights in a row in Morges...
