Dancepix
I don’t have many pix from my early ballet period, the first one dates from 1989, when I was 15 years old; my ballet teacher also had a professional background in folkloric dance. The most beautiful folkloric dance I ever performed in, was a Russian Rei dance. Hearing the music of this dance, still moves me to tears; it’s just amazingly beautiful.
In 1993, I went to Morges (near Lausanne) in Switzerland on an exchange trip with my ballet school. We had a great time and performed twice in a theater, together with the students of the local ballet school.
I danced a solo called Romeo in 1994. It started out with Latin church music, but at some point it changed to the song Romeo’s Sceance by Elvis Costello. It was lovely, I was so happy I got the chance to dance this part. I performed it once in the old theater of Amstelveen and in a little theater in Diemen.
I decided to quit ballet dancing in 1995, but not after I had discovered the clown in me! I got to dance it twice, on the beautiful Concerto Grosso by Händel, with two different groups of cute little girls.
Last added: pix of Sander and me dancing the Argentinean tango.
Look at some pix of us dancing.
