In 1993, my ballet teacher Margriet van Olden set up an exchange programme for the senior ballet class with the ballet school André Ruffieux in Morges, Switzerland (near Lausanne). The purpose was that Swiss ballet students would also come to the Netherlands in following years, but somehow that never happened.
It was a great experience; at first we were very impressed with all the Swiss students having such a high technical level. We soon though found out the Swiss audience loved our performances very much.
